Georgia Cost-of-Living Relief and Supply Expansion Act

Be it enacted by the Georgia General Assembly that, for a limited two-year period, the state shall suspend sales tax on groceries, reduce annual motor vehicle registration fees by 25 percent, and cap specified state permitting fees for owner-occupied home construction and small business energy-efficiency upgrades; and that relevant state agencies shall establish expedited review timelines for qualifying housing developments, grid modernization projects, and in-state energy infrastructure expansions that meet existing safety and environmental standards. The purpose of this Act is to provide immediate household relief while addressing inflationary pressure through increased housing and energy supply, with agencies required to report implementation progress and estimated consumer savings to the General Assembly every six months.
