A bill to provide temporary inflation relief by suspending for 12 months the federal excise tax on dyed diesel and reducing by 50 percent for the same period certain federal excise taxes on gasoline and highway diesel fuel used in agriculture, freight hauling, and other essential rural commerce; to direct the Secretary of Agriculture and the Secretary of Energy to expedite guidance ensuring farmers, ranchers, and independent truckers can access such relief; and to require that any major federal regulation with significant effects on fuel, fertilizer, feed, or agricultural transportation costs include a Rural Inflation Impact Review before taking effect, so Congress and the public can assess likely cost burdens on working families and rural producers.
