Workforce Housing and Community Permitting Act

This bill would establish a competitive HUD grant program and expand federal tax incentives for the construction and rehabilitation of workforce housing in high-cost communities, prioritizing homes affordable to veterans, first responders, and working families. It would provide technical assistance and modest bonus funding to communities that adopt transparent, time-limited permitting processes and accept complete housing applications electronically, while preserving local zoning authority and requiring annual reporting on units created, costs, and processing times.
