Workforce and Veterans Housing Near Military Installations Act

This bill would establish a competitive federal grant program, administered by the Department of Housing and Urban Development in coordination with the Department of Defense, to support the construction and rehabilitation of workforce and veterans’ housing near military installations and in high-cost coastal communities. Eligible projects would receive priority for expedited local permitting, provided they meet applicable safety, environmental, and fair-housing standards, while targeted rental assistance and down-payment support would help eligible veterans, military families, essential workers, and first-time homebuyers secure housing.
