A bill to strengthen immigration enforcement by increasing civil and criminal penalties for employers who knowingly hire or retain unauthorized workers, requiring the use of a federal employment verification system for covered businesses and federal contractors, and authorizing additional grants, training, and legal protections for state and local law enforcement agencies that voluntarily cooperate with federal immigration authorities in the identification, detention, and transfer of removable noncitizens, while preserving due process and existing anti-discrimination protections under federal law.
