My fellow Americans, friends, and neighbors,
I stand before you today in Charleston, a city steeped in history, where the echoes of our past remind us of both the trials and triumphs that have shaped our great nation. This is where my journey began, where my family’s values were forged, and where my love for this country first took root. Today, it’s here in Charleston that I come to announce my candidacy for President of the United States of America.
This is not a decision I have made lightly. It comes from a deep sense of duty to the principles and values that make America the greatest nation on earth. We are at a crossroads, my friends, and our country faces challenges that demand steady, principled leadership. We need leaders who will uphold our Constitution, defend our freedoms, and bring us together as one people under the common bonds of faith, family, and country.
I am running for president because I believe in an America where our government serves we the people, not the other way around. I believe in the power of free markets, the sanctity of life, the strength of families, and the wisdom of our Constitution. These are the bedrock principles that have guided me throughout my life—as a businesswoman, a mother, a public servant, and now as your U.S. Senator.
But let’s be clear about what is at stake. In recent years, we’ve seen leaders on both sides of the aisle stray from our core values and put politics above principle. We’ve watched as our institutions have been challenged and our democratic norms have been tested. In these times, we must remember: power is a responsibility, not a privilege.
It is not enough to claim the mantle of conservatism; we must live it out in our policies, our actions, and our words. True conservatism means governing with integrity, honoring the rule of law, and standing up for what is right, even when it’s difficult. As your senator, I have always called things as I see them. I’ve challenged the status quo, I’ve pushed back against extremism, and I’ve never hesitated to defend the Constitution—even when it meant speaking out against members of my own party.
Now, I know I’m not the only one thinking about running for this office. And I welcome the competition. Because a campaign is about more than one candidate or one party—it’s about a national conversation on who we are and where we’re headed. This campaign will be a fight for the soul of our country, for the values that have made us a beacon of freedom and opportunity for generations.
My campaign will be rooted in a commitment to restore those values. To put the focus back on we the people. To build an America where government works for us, not against us. Where families are supported, small businesses thrive, and our communities are free to flourish without the heavy hand of bureaucracy weighing them down.
My fellow Americans, this is our moment. We face big challenges, but we also have a tremendous opportunity. An opportunity to come together around our shared principles. To lead with courage and conviction. To be a nation that not only honors its past but has the vision to secure its future.
We will bring a new vision for America that embraces our traditional values, a vision that seeks to strengthen our communities, uphold the rule of law, and return power to the people where it belongs. We will fight for fiscal responsibility, not just for this generation but for the generations to come. We will defend our Constitution, not just in word, but in deed.
But I cannot do this alone. This campaign isn’t just about me—it’s about all of us. It’s about the farmer in the fields, the teacher in the classroom, the small business owner fighting to make payroll, and the families sitting around the dinner table wondering what kind of future awaits their children. I need you in this fight. I need your voice, your energy, and your prayers.
Together, we can bring America back to its founding principles. Together, we can restore integrity to our government, honor to our politics, and hope to our nation.
So, with faith in God, love for this country, and the determination of a South Carolina native who never backs down from a challenge, I am asking you to join me in this fight. I am running for President of the United States of America, not to seek power for its own sake, but to serve you, the American people, with honesty, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to our values.
Let’s write the next great chapter of American history—one that we can be proud to pass on to our children and grandchildren.
Thank you. God bless South Carolina, and God bless the United States of America!
