We have a housing crisis. It’s no secret. Luckily, I have a plan. Instead of continuing on the failed path of stimulating demand by simply throwing money at the issue, I will enact legislation making it easier and faster to build new housing by removing artificial barriers imposed by the government. That means cheaper prices and a more sustainable, equitable housing market for all.
- Too many young kids are stuck in failing schools, particularly in large cities. The government forces them to remain in these schools so it can take what little money they have in taxes. This disproportionately harms minority kids and parents. It’s part of the cycle of poverty that perpetuates generational problems faced by these communities. I will push to expand school choice initiatives that have worked wonders for children in many cities across the country, including in our nation’s capital, where hundreds of black students benefit from safer, better-run schools every year. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach for different communities, so let’s stop trying to force things with an outdated system.
