The situation at the border is a disgrace, especially for the most powerful country in the world. Every day, dangerous hard drugs like fentanyl are smuggled into our country by the Mexican cartels, killing thousands of Americans every single year. The drug trade brings with it crime and disorder that further victimizes American families. On top of that, the flood of illegal immigrants has strained public resources and caused law enforcement far more trouble in combating the most dangerous actors who are committing human trafficking, drug smuggling, and other heinous crimes. I will vote to secure our border and reform our legal system so that we can finally get a handle on this problem, once and for all.

It’s no secret that many of our cities have a crime problem. St. Louis is the most murderous city in the nation. This has consequences beyond the city itself because St. Louis serves as an economic and cultural center not just for the state but for the whole country as well. This is in part a local problem and a national problem. Often, the federal government gets in the way of police departments by making their job harder and more bureaucratic, keeping them tied up with paper work and legal business instead of doing their job on the streets. Far-left politicians are trying to make it worse by enacting top-down restrictions and halting police funding. I will stand against these efforts and empower police. I will give a voice to citizens left behind by their criminal justice system and denied justice for what was done to them.
- We need to get a handle on the housing supply shortage and the massive inflation in housing costs. The best way is to reduce regulation and stimulate a new era of housing construction in our country, in the city, the suburbs, and the country. Democrats just want to throw more money at the problem, but that’s already been tried, and it hasn’t worked. All it does is further inflame the problem at taxpayers’ expense. It’s time for a new solution from a new approach.
