“My position on immigration is very simple. I believe in enforcing the law and protecting American jobs, while also providing opportunities for immigrants who come here legally. We need to ensure that every worker in Texas has the opportunity to earn a fair wage, including immigrants who come here legally and contribute to our economy.

“My opponent, on the other hand, will enact policies that will undermine the opportunities and experiences of people who arrive here legally. She will reward people who break the law to come here and corporations who break the law to hire them. 

“America is a nation of immigrants, and we are proud of that heritage. But we must ensure that the system is fair for those who follow the law and come here the right way. This isn't about Republicans or Democrats. It's about doing what's right for Texas and for our country.”
