It’s good to be here in Portsmouth, a place with deep roots in New England history and a proud tradition of innovation and industry. But today, we stand at a new crossroads, and the choices we make in the coming years will define not just New Hampshire’s future, but the future of our entire nation.
I’m running for President because I believe we can build a stronger, fairer America — an America where no one is left behind. And it starts with rebuilding the middle class.
Here in Portsmouth, you know the value of hard work. You know the struggles facing small businesses, the challenges of making sure our kids get a great education, and the importance of taking care of our environment. I’ve spent my career fighting for those values, and as President, I will bring that fight to Washington.
Let’s talk about education. For too long, our public schools have been underfunded, and too many young people are being saddled with crushing student loan debt. That’s why I’m committed to making community college tuition-free and expanding vocational training programs. Not every student needs to follow the same path, but every student deserves a fair shot at success. We need to prepare the next generation for the jobs of the future, whether that’s in high-tech industries or skilled trades.
Next, let’s talk about climate change. The people of New Hampshire know better than most the beauty of our natural environment — the forests, lakes, and coastlines that make this state such a special place. But all of that is at risk if we don’t take action on climate now. As President, I will make America a global leader in clean energy, creating millions of new jobs in industries like solar and wind. We’ll protect our coastlines from rising sea levels, preserve our forests, and ensure that future generations inherit a planet they can thrive on.
But we can’t build a better future if we don’t protect the right to vote. Our democracy is only as strong as the people who participate in it, and that’s why we must ensure voting rights for every American. No one should face barriers to casting their ballot — not in New Hampshire, and not anywhere else. As President, I will push for comprehensive voting rights protections to ensure that every citizen’s voice is heard.
New Hampshire, your voice matters. This state has always led the way in shaping our nation’s future, and I’m counting on you to help us build a brighter, fairer America.
