Thank you all. It’s good to be here in Richmond tonight, surrounded by so many friends, supporters, and, most importantly, people who care deeply about the future of Virginia. Your presence here means more than I can say. You aren’t just supporters—you are partners in this mission to bring real change to Washington.
I’ll be honest with you: running for the U.S. Senate is no small thing. It takes a team, it takes energy, and it takes a vision for what we believe this country and this state can become. And you’re all part of that vision.
You know, growing up in Virginia Beach, I didn’t come from wealth or privilege. My father served in the Navy, and my mother was a public school teacher. They weren’t wealthy, but they were rich in purpose, and they taught me that the most important thing we can do in this life is to serve—serve our families, serve our communities, and serve our country.
That lesson stayed with me throughout my time as a Marine, where I served alongside men and women from all backgrounds, all walks of life. They came from every corner of America, united by a common purpose: to protect and defend this nation. And that’s what I want to bring to Washington—a common purpose. A focus on what unites us, rather than what divides us.
I’ve served this country overseas in war zones. I’ve served it here at home in the Virginia House of Delegates. And now I’m asking for the opportunity to serve you in the U.S. Senate, because I believe—no, I know—that we can do better. We can make Washington work for all Virginians.
But let me tell you what that’s going to take. It’s going to take leadership that doesn’t just talk about problems, but actually solves them.
First, we need to support our veterans. That’s not just lip service, folks. After 20 years in the Marine Corps, I know what it means to sacrifice for this country, and I know what veterans face when they come home. We need to make sure they have access to quality healthcare, mental health services, and opportunities to succeed in civilian life. I’ve fought for that in Richmond, and I’ll fight for it in Washington.
Second, we need to protect our environment. I’m not talking about abstract policies—I’m talking about real action to preserve Virginia’s natural resources. The Chesapeake Bay is more than just a body of water; it’s a lifeline for our economy and our way of life. We need to invest in clean energy, protect our coastlines, and ensure that future generations can enjoy the natural beauty we sometimes take for granted. It’s about jobs, it’s about health, and it’s about our future.
And lastly, we need to fix Washington. I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of the gridlock, the partisan bickering, and the politics of fear that have taken over our nation’s capital. In Richmond, I’ve worked across the aisle to get things done. I don’t care whether you’re a Democrat or a Republican—I care about results. I care about the people of Virginia, and I’ll work with anyone who’s willing to do what’s right for our state and our country.
But let’s be honest—this campaign is going to take resources. It’s going to take energy and support from people like you who believe that we can do better. And that’s why we’re here tonight, because we’re building something together—something bigger than any one person.
It’s about the veteran in Roanoke who needs better healthcare. It’s about the small business owner in Norfolk who’s trying to stay afloat. It’s about the student in Charlottesville who wants a future where clean air and water are a given, not a question.
This campaign is about you, and it’s about the future of Virginia. And with your help—with your support—we’re going to win this race, and we’re going to bring a new kind of leadership to Washington. Leadership that listens. Leadership that works. Leadership that serves.
So tonight, I’m asking for your help. I’m asking for your belief in this campaign, your belief in our shared values, and your belief that we can make a difference.
Because together, we can. Together, we will.
Thank you, Richmond. Let’s keep moving forward!
[Applause and cheers]
