Are we seriously going to need more victims to talk about Gun control? How many will be enough? How many more children must die upon the alter of the second amendment? " Dean and other left-leaning figures pointed to the gunmen’s ability to acquire semi-automatic weapons and large amounts of ammunition without facing significant barriers, calling for stricter background checks, an assault weapons ban, and limits on high-capacity magazines. Activist groups like Moms Demand Action and March for Our Lives held candlelight vigils across the nation while also ramping up their campaigns for legislative reform.
