Executive Order #10: Revoking Executive Order 6 and Restoring Contracting Flexibility
Executive Order #10 Revoking Executive Order 6 and Restoring Contracting Flexibility By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered as follows: Section 1. Revocation of Executive Order 6 Executive Order 6 of May 2, 2025, titled “Ensuring Fair Wages for Federal Contractors,” is hereby revoked in its entirety. Section 2. Policy It is the policy of this Administration to ensure that the Federal Government procures services and materials in a fiscally responsible, efficient, and cost-conscious manner. While fair treatment of workers remains a national value, rigid wage mandates and regulatory inflexibility during a period of elevated inflation risk undermining both job creation and taxpayer stewardship. Section 3. Contracting Authority and Implementation All executive departments and agencies shall immediately cease implementation of Executive Order 6 and related wage and leave requirements for federal contractors, to the extent permitted by law. The Secretary of Labor shall: Promptly issue guidance rescinding any regulations, memoranda, or directives issued pursuant to Executive Order 6. Provide notice to all affected agencies and contractors of the policy change within 10 business days. Coordinate with the Office of Management and Budget to ensure that contract cost evaluations and procurement procedures are updated to reflect this revocation. Section 4. Severability If any provision of this order, or the application thereof to any person or circumstance, is held invalid, the remainder of this order and the application of its provisions shall not be affected. Section 5. General Provisions This order shall be implemented consistent with applicable law and subject to the availability of appropriations. Nothing in this order shall be construed to impair or otherwise affect the authority granted by law to an executive department, agency, or the head thereof.
