Governor David Acton releases the following statement regarding the Galveston County stomach virus outbreak:

“My office is monitoring the situation in Galveston County closely. We take outbreaks like this very seriously, especially when they affect vulnerable populations like young kids. We are in contact with local authorities and will be looking to assist however we are needed. We are also exploring additional wide-reaching public health legislation that could bolster response efforts in the future.”
