After more than three decades of coaching football, including seventeen seasons in the NFL as a linebackers coach and defensive coordinator, I am announcing that I am seeking opportunities as a Defensive Coordinator in the DFL.

Like many coaches across the league, my position was eliminated as part of the NFL's recent financial restructuring. Ownership made the decision to reduce costs by moving toward a younger, less expensive coaching staff. While I would have preferred a different outcome, I understand the realities of the business and appreciate the opportunities I was given throughout my NFL career.

I've been asked why I'm interested in the DFL.

The answer is simple: I want to coach football.

The DFL isn't competing with the NFL financially, and that's not why I'm here. Rather than spend months—or years—waiting for the right phone call, I'd rather be on a practice field teaching players, building a defense, and helping an organization win football games.

I've followed the growth of the DFL with interest. Any league that invests in competition, player development, and building something sustainable deserves respect. Football has always been about more than logos or headlines. It's about preparation, discipline, accountability, and earning success one day at a time.

Those principles haven't changed, and neither have I.

To every organization considering me, I can promise only what I've always promised: a prepared defense, honest coaching, and a commitment to helping players become the best versions of themselves. The rest will take care of itself.
