EUGENE, Ore. — Alicia Crespo today announced her candidacy for governor of Oregon, joining the 2026 race ahead of the November 3 general election. Crespo, an Eugene native and incoming University of Oregon student, said she is running to offer a new generation of leadership focused on affordability, accountability, and real results for working families.

“Oregonians deserve a government that works as hard as they do,” Crespo said. “Too many families are paying more for housing, waiting too long for care, and struggling with transportation and infrastructure that no longer meet the needs of a growing state.” Oregon leaders and statewide groups have continued to highlight housing affordability, transportation investment, and public health as central statewide priorities.

Crespo said her campaign will focus on lowering costs, expanding housing, modernizing roads and transit, improving healthcare access, and strengthening economic opportunity across urban and rural Oregon alike. At the University of Oregon, the political science program emphasizes critical thinking, communication, and preparation for careers in government and public service, goals Crespo said align with her own long-term commitment to serving Oregonians.

“This campaign is about building an Oregon that is more affordable, more connected, and more secure for the next generation,” Crespo said. “The future of this state should belong to everyone willing to work for it.”
