Governor David Acton released the following statement following his signing of the Texas Private Land Stewardship and Wildfire Resilience Act of 2026:

“It is my good pleasure to stand with Texas land owners, conservationists, environmental enthusiasts, ecosystem experts, and rural communities in signing this bill. I introduced this measure to the state legislature because I saw a need. Texas has seen devastating wildfire in recent years, and who knows our state’s vast lands than the people who live there? This act will empower them to take powerful measures that mitigate risk, protect the environment, and ensure a safer, healthier future for Texans and our wildlife friends.”
