I have noticed a lot of talk about a bill I introduced here recently and I have to say there are a lot of statements being throwed around without any facts. That is fine, the people are use to it and I knew what I was getting into when I started to run but here are some of my thoughts.

Nuclear reactors have several more safe protocols and procedures than years ago. By placing it under water, we are helping with the cooling of the plant. Now I'm not an engineer and I'll never claim to be one or know more then the next person but anyone living in the area knows that jobs are needed just as much as power during a wind storm.

Now, one thing I agree with that I have read is people do need to think for themselves and ask the hard questions. However, they need to paint the picture with facts, not someone else's thoughts. That is one problem we have. As for big and fancy, yes. This plant is going to be big, expensive, and future foreword thinking.

Now for my mistake. I did write the wording to sound like the price tag is six billion dollars when I meant to say we should use the six billion in Indiana's savings from last year. I think that money should be used to improve the lives of Hoosiers. With that being said, I am not saying spend it all at once.

This plan is going to take time and a few years however, one thing Indiana has proven is that we can budget. Hence the savings for a rainy day. Also yes, there are a lot of things that money could help with faster but I'm looking to the future. Jobs, secured utilities from storms that are becoming more and more popular in Indiana. Even the lake, once tested and confirmed to be safe will bring tourist to this low populated area.

And the best part of the bill includes bringing multiple Fire Departments around that area up to par. I did not limit that part as there is a lot to it and I believe the local departments can and know what they will need. My plan is big but simple. Gain the lost trust and look to the future.
