DENVER — Grant Legacy Group founder and CEO Lila Grant today announced the launch of the Denver Summit, an expansion team competing in the DFL's National Conference. With the move, Grant becomes the first Black woman to own a franchise in league history.

"When I was a little girl in Atlanta's West End, nobody would've believed a preacher's daughter would one day own a professional football team," said Grant. "So to every girl told to wait her turn: your turn is now. The Summit are here to win, and here to stay."

Grant built Grant Legacy Group from a single funeral home into a multi-city empire spanning estate law, death-care, and a national lifestyle brand. She brings that same discipline and refusal to lose to football.

"I've spent my career walking into rooms that weren't built for me and walking out owning a piece of them," Grant said. "I intend to be the best owner this league has — not the best woman owner, not the best Black owner. The best, full stop. And I intend to bring Denver a championship."

The Summit's inaugural staff is led by Head Coach Colton Rigsbee, the Texas high school legend making his pro debut, with Offensive Coordinator Jamarcus Ellison-Bey and his modern passing attack, and Defensive Coordinator Brock Tullis, a hardened Mountain West defensive mind with deep Colorado roots.

"I didn't hire a staff. I hired a mindset," Grant said. "Bold on offense, brutal on defense, unwilling to back down."

The Summit will build their inaugural roster in the weeks ahead, with draft and free-agency plans to follow.

"Denver, this is your team now," Grant said. "The view from the Summit is worth the climb."
