The Affordability Agenda

· Shaa · Issue: Inflation

The Affordability Agenda
• Lower costs at the pump by expanding reliable domestic energy production, improving supply-chain resilience, and providing targeted, temporary fuel relief for workers who depend on driving to earn a paycheck.
• Make groceries more affordable by increasing competition, enforcing laws against price-fixing and unfair practices, and supporting farmers, truckers, and small businesses that keep food moving from farms to family tables. Competition policy can help address practices that raise prices and limit consumer choice.

• Put more money back in working people’s pockets through tax relief and direct, targeted assistance for lower- and middle-income families facing rising costs.
• Help small businesses grow by cutting unnecessary red tape, expanding access to capital, and creating conditions that allow employers to raise wages and hire more workers.
• Build long-term security for everyone by lowering housing, health care, and energy costs while protecting a strong economy that rewards work, savings, entrepreneurship, and investment.

This is not about dividing Americans by income or pitting one group against another,” continued. “It is about building an economy where a person working full time can afford the basics, a family can save for the future, and a business owner can grow without being crushed by rising costs.”
I will call on leaders at every level of government to put affordability ahead of political games and deliver results that working people can see in their paychecks and feel in their household budgets.
