There are expensive hamburgers.

And then there is whatever happened to Leonard Cox.

Cox just sold 777 shares of Burger Haven for $4,802, recording an $80,606 loss on the transaction.

That works out to a sale price of roughly $6.18 per share.

The transaction record doesn't tell us why Cox sold. Maybe he wanted out. Maybe he needed the cash. Maybe he thinks there are better places to put what remains.

But the size of the loss makes the move interesting.

It's also part of a market where some players are currently realizing enormous gains while others are heading for the exits. Knox Carver, for example, recently sold more than $1 million of HealthGuard shares for a $400,741 profit, while Maya Renner realized $138,531 on a PowerGrid Corp sale.

Cox landed on the other side of that ledger.

We don't know whether Burger Haven goes up or down from here. We do know Cox has made his decision.

The final bill: $80,606. Fries presumably not included.

That's the fine print.
