PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — The Harborlight Exhibit Hall at Port St. Lucie’s Morningside Branch Library has opened “Tide Lines,” a 19-piece exhibition by featured artist Nadia Ellery built around layered coastal maps, stitched fabric panels and painted studies of Florida waterways. The show is scheduled to remain on view for 16 weeks and recorded 54 visitors during its first week.

Museum curator Isaiah Okonjo arranged the works so visitors enter through Ellery’s map-based pieces before reaching more intimate fabric and paint compositions. Ellery’s work uses shoreline imagery and handwritten fragments to examine memory, movement and the changing appearance of familiar places.

Okonjo said the library setting was intended to make the exhibit approachable for regular patrons as well as art visitors. The display is available during the branch’s regular public hours.
