Hip-hop artist Jaden Williams, known professionally as J-Dub, said in a public statement that he and pop superstar Celeste Hart have ended their relationship and that he is preparing to release three new songs.

In the statement, J-Dub said he had spent much of the year “off the grid,” adding that part of that absence was by choice and part of it was not. He acknowledged fan speculation about his silence and addressed the status of his relationship directly, writing that he and Hart “are no longer together.”

“She’s an incredible person and I’ll always be grateful for the time we shared,” J-Dub said in the release. “Sometimes two people can care about each other and still realize they’re headed in different directions.”
