MOUNT LAUREL, N.J. — Northstar Process Systems has finalized a partial reversal of the 123 layoffs it announced because of declining demand in its industry, concluding a review that returned a portion of affected employees to active work status.
The Mount Laurel corporate employer is assigning the workers whose layoffs were reversed to its new internal operations pool, where they are receiving revised assignments while the company determines staffing needs across departments. The reversal does not extend to all 123 positions initially affected.
Odell Suzuki, an affected worker, had faced uncertainty after the original announcement. Northstar, which has operated for 56 years, has now completed the review-driven step that preserved a portion of the jobs, while leaving the company to continue organizing its departmental workforce.
