FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Quarter 1, 2027 US Senator John Garland Sworn In for Fourth Term Representing Arkansas Marking Over Two Decades in the U.S. Senate Washington, DC— United States Senator John Garland (R-AR) was officially sworn in today to serve his fourth term as the senior United States Senator for the state of Arkansas. The oath of office was administered by Vice President Danielle Bu during a formal ceremony in the Senate Chamber. First elected in 2003, Senator Garland has consistently prioritized economic development, rural healthcare, and education reform, becoming a steadfast advocate for the people of Arkansas and a respected leader in the Senate. "Serving the people of Arkansas remains the greatest honor of my life," Senator Garland said. "As I begin this new term, I remain committed to fighting for the values and priorities of Arkansans, from strengthening our infrastructure and expanding access to healthcare to ensuring a brighter future for our children." During his tenure, Senator Garland has played a key role in passing the historic Farm Bill, leading bipartisan efforts to improve veterans' healthcare, and securing funding for critical infrastructure projects across the state. His leadership has earned him recognition as one of the most effective lawmakers in the Senate. Fellow Arkansas Senator John Boozman (R-AR) praised Garland’s dedication and leadership. Senator Vinachelli Recaps Highly Successful First Session Delivering for New Jersey LAKEWOOD, NJ – Senator Vinachelli highlighted various successes following the completion of this first session as U.S. Senator from New Jersey at a recent event at the Lakewood Resource and Referral Center in Lakewood, New Jersey. ‘Its been one hell of a session,’ Senator Vinachelli said ‘If the Senate had first round draft picks or rookie of the year titles, we would have had a clean sweep.’ Every bill that Senator Vinachelli introduced in his first session became law with the exception of the Fair Transportation Funding Act that still received a majority support in both Houses and Senator Vinachelli was able to secure billions of dollars in infrastructure funding supported by the bill through other means. ‘This is a huge win for New Jersey.’ In addition to his own legislation, 5 out of 6 bills that Senator Vinachelli cosponsored became law, along with several amendments to other bills lowering prescription drug costs and supporting new energy trade with Venezuela, and over $30 billion in new federal dollars has been invested into New Jersey thanks to Senator Vinachelli’s leadership. Other legislative accomplishments include: Permanently extending $4,000 in tax cuts on average for New Jersey families. Doubling the federal minimum wage while preserving the tip credit for small businesses. Eliminating taxes on tips for hard working service employees. Doubling the State and Local Tax Deduction for homeowners and small businesses burdened by high taxes. Extending and doubling the number of Opportunity Zones to bring new investment across the state. Securing vital relief and recovery dollars for New Jersey following Winter Storm Aria. Securing proactive emergency response and early warning measures to protect against future extreme weather events. Honoring New Jersey heroes and recommitting ourselves to securing our homeland and defending our allies. Secured millions for fishing communities and research centers at New Jersey universities. Secured hundreds of millions for medical research and disease prevention in New Jersey. Secured tens of billions in new infrastructure investment for enhancing roads, public transportation, and mass transit.
