As characters hold political fundraisers in a media market, the donors become fatigued (thus reducing how much they can donate to you). Each Saturday at 12:30am EST, available cash increases automatically based on the economy of the market and when a fundraiser is held in that market the available cash decreases automatically. In other words, if there is a wealthy, large city that other politicians are ignoring and you hold a fundraiser there you will likely have higher than normal donations for your event.
