    Tom Garrett is a proud fourth-generation farmer who has spent his entire life working the land in Haskell County, Kansas. Raised in a working-class farming family, Tom learned the values of hard work, resilience, and self-reliance at an early age. After earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Science from Kansas State University, he returned to manage his family farm. His hands-on experience has given him a deep understanding of the challenges facing Kansas farmers, from fluctuating market prices to unpredictable weather conditions.

    Recognizing the importance of having farmers’ voices represented in government, Tom entered politics, serving in the Kansas State Legislature for over a decade. During his tenure, he fought tirelessly for policies that support agricultural development, fair trade practices, and rural economic growth. His negotiating skills and ability to bridge gaps between different factions earned him respect from colleagues on both sides of the aisle.

    Tom lives on the same land his great-grandfather farmed, a symbol of his commitment to preserving the rural lifestyle and agricultural heritage of Kansas. His marriage of over 30 years to his high school sweetheart is a testament to his dedication to family and community. Known for his love of hunting, fishing, and coaching little league games, Tom is seen as a quintessential “man of the people” who understands the needs and values of Kansans. His campaign focuses on safeguarding the future of farming, promoting economic prosperity for rural areas, and ensuring that the federal government does not infringe on the rights of individuals and businesses in the heartland.
