    Nancy Lopez is a progressive state representative from the Los Angeles metropolitan area in California. She is 28, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from UCLA as well as a Master’s in Women’s Studies. During college, she organized with many fellow progressive and feminist activists to demand greater equality in pay, increased access to birth control, and fewer barriers to reproductive health. She also organized in favor of immigrants’ rights. After college, she worked for several advocacy non-profits before founding Her Voice, a local advocacy group in LA focused on the rights of marginalized women. 
     

    In 2020, she ran an insurgent campaign against the incumbent Democratic State House member. Her campaign emphasized racial equity, anti-discrimination, and women’s rights. She won in an upset and went on the serve in the California House of Representatives as a Democrat.
